A Second Chance -> A New Journey -> A Forever Home
About The Pawsitive Pathways Program

Our Mission
is to save dogs from rural areas
of Colorado where they are unable or unlikely to be adopted. After taking them into our PACFA certified program they are vetted, loved, trained and socialized. The end goal being to give these dogs the best opportunity to find a new home!
Some of the wonderful shelters, rescues, and animal control offices we've worked with so far include: RezDawg Rescue, La Junta Animal Shelter, Live Love Rescue, Lamar Animal Shelter, Baca County Animal Services, Ordway Animal Control, and more.
Here is the process for dogs entering the program:
-
The dog receives an initial behavior evaluation and assessment from founder and lead trainer, Brandie
-
Monetary sponsorship/donations are secured for the dog to ensure proper care and resources throughout their time in the program
-
They are picked up from their current living situation and travel to their new temporary home with caretaker/trainer and program director, Brandie
-
They stay in the program for 2-4 weeks (or as long as it takes to find them a great new home) learning how to trust humans, be a good dog in a home environment, basic manners, obedience, how to socialize with other dogs, meeting new people and animals, etc
-
They receive any veterinary or medical care necessary during their stay
-
All while being promoted and networked around the state to find their perfect new forever family!
-
Once a perfect new family is found, the adoption paperwork is completed with whatever agency, shelter or rescue the dog is being sponsored by and then Brandie, the program director/trainer transports the dog to their new home
